Karl’s Garlic Thyme Green Beans

I am always experimenting with quick ways to spruce up plain steamed green beans. This one was a last minute flourish to go with my Karl’s Smoked Turkey Shepherd’s Pie.

1 lb. Green beans, ends trimmed
1 Tbs. Butter
1 clove Garlic, pressed
½ tsp. Thyme
½ Tbs. Balsamic vinegar
Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions

1. Steam green beans until tender crisp. Drain and run cold water over them to stop them from over cooking.

2. Put the butter, garlic, and thyme into the pot and cook on medium high for 1 minute.

3. Turn off the heat and add the vinegar, beans and Salt & pepper.  Toss to coat the beans and warm up the beans with the heat of the pot. Serve immediately.
