Karl’s Fresh Tomato Soup without Garlic and Onions

Daughter Miriam—who is still avoiding garlic and onions—has requested tomato soup and melted cheese sandwiches for Sunday’s dinner. She had bought a store “fresh” tomato soup and it had so much garlic that she could not eat it. Looking on-line for ideas, I find that virtually all of the recipes called for using at least one of the forbidden ingredients.

Karl’s Tapas: Gazpacho (Cold Tomato Soup)

I am making a Spanish tapas dinner for this Sunday. This whole meal started because Miriam wanted this cold tomato soup. Gazpacho may be served as a tapas. I made this gazpacho a bit simpler than my last, simply because was making so many other dishes. Jan thinks of this dish as salsa soup.

Karl’s Weekday Tomato & Red Pepper Shrimp Soup

As followers of my blog may know, I generally do not like recipes that consist of “add can A to can B.” However, some days even I do not want to start from scratch. When I can start with a good commercial soup base, I can add fresh ingredients to make a decent meal.
