The kids are on one of their low-starch diets—South Beach this time—so I have to adapt my Sunday meals to this. Personally, I believe that the secret losing weight is in not eliminating any particular “evil” food group, but in eating healthy and eating less—a bit of exercise wouldn’t hurt (the pot calling the kettle). There is no healthy way to eat massive amounts of food and still lose weight—still I try to accommodate.

Karl’s Chicken Cacciatore (Hunter’s Chicken)
Many European countries have some variation of hunter’s chicken: the Italian pollo alla cacciatore, the French poulet chasseur and coq au vin, and the German hühnchen nach jägerart. Karl’s Almond Biscotti
Adapted from Joy of Cooking
Every year we make several Christmas give-aways—food treats to bring joy to our friends. Karl’s Italian Sausage Lasagna
Son-in-law, Chris, is leaving on another trip, so the kids are not coming over for Sunday dinner. Jan requested something forbidden by his ketogenic diet, lasagna. Since this is also our anniversary week (31st) I agreed to make it for her. I also made her favorite salad, carrot, to go with it.
